Ballantines 21 years Blended Whisky
This is a spicy whisky, full and complex as well aged blends should be. Glenburgie, the malt at the heart of this one is very apparent with its sweet honey flavors.
Ballantines has its origins in 1827 when George Ballantine set up a small grocery store in Edinburgh supplying a range of whiskies to his clientele.
Hiram Walker, later owners of the brand in the 1930’s purchased the Miltonduff and Glenburgie Distilleries and built a massive new grain distillery at Dumbarton. Miltonduff and Glenburgie have been used in all the Ballantines blends since then. A few official bottlings of both brands have found their way into the market under the Ballantines bottling brand.
Nose: Rich, honey-sweet with hints of apple and floral aromas.
Palate: A smooth balance of rich liquorice and aromatic spice.
Finish: Long and mellow with hints of dried fruit.
