Bells 12 years ceramic Year of the Sheep 1991.

The Bells Distillery was founded in 1798 but the magic only really started in 1851 when Arthur Bell began blending various single malts to create a more consistent whisky for his apparently very discerning buyers.

Bells business grew and directors saw the opportunity of USA’s prohibition end, buying three distilleries in the 1930’s, Blair Athol, Dufftown and Inchgower. Blair Athol is used to this day in most of the Bells Blends, along with some of Diageo’s other Distilleries,  such as Caol Ila and Glenkinchie.

Eventually the brand was bought into the Diageo Liquid Empire, and is still the top selling brand in the world today.
