Double Single 2017 Compass Box Blended Scotch Whisky

This is a wonderful example of Blending with just two distilleries spirit. The given wisdom is more varied distilleries malts and grains makes for a better blend, but this one is an incredible whisky.

Glen Elgin’s Malt and Girvan’s Grain are responsible for this one, with John Glaser the wizard creating a masterpiece.

In fact, Jim Murray, iconoclast and no: 1 world whisky Influencer  branded this very bottle of whisky : Whisky of the year 2017. No mean moniker indeed.

Nose: Sweet and Salty, caramel and cream.
Palate: Citrus fruits, the tang of Sea Salt and a little brine.
Finish: The finish is all lemons cinnamon and vanilla.
