Edradour Calendonia 12 years Single Malt

This is a release specially selected by Douglas Maclean, Scottish musician and clearly a whisky drinker of note.

Aged exclusively in Olorosso sherry casks this is a masterpiece of whisky making, from the initial nose to the long finish. The dram punches well above its age weight. A complex and deep whisky, just like Dougie, with his sad songs about dying.

Signatory Vintage, owners of Edradour put their specific hand on this one, with the Olorosso Sherry and the famous Signature. After all Signatory Vintage was supposed to be a bottle endorsed by a famous person and signed on the bottle, thus, Signatory. However this proved to be unnecessary because their Expressions are incredible drinking, and who wants to pay a soccer player to hawk your brand anyway.

Nose: Complex, dried fruit, Grapes and roasted Almonds and sweet honey

Palate: Powerful mouth, aromatic and syrup, thick and oily, butter, and damp oak

Finish: Oak, moody and cherries

If I should become a stranger
You know that it would make me more than sad
Caledonia’s been everything
I’ve ever had
