Glen Grant 1840 Single Malt (1980’s)

This is a bottle of Glen Grant 1840, the Standard Malt from perhaps the most well known Distillery in the world. Bottles of Glen Grant Single Malt could be found all over the world from the late 19th Century, before the name Single Malt was used.

John Grant, the senior, founded the Glen Grant distillery in 1839 in a Valley that he named after himself. On his death his son John junior took over the company and the brand took over the world.

Glen Grant today is headed up by Dennis Malcolm, who was born in the Distillery in 1946, where his father was employed as a stillman. His grandfather had also served as a mashman and stillman before him. Malcolm became an employee when he was 15.
