Johnnie Walker Blue Glenury Royal Ghost and Rare

Third of the “Ghost and Rare” releases, the Master Blender used Glenury Royal, closed since 1985, as the heart of this masterful blend.

Along with the few Glenury Royal barrels, which are of course at least 35 years old, he added Cambus and Pittyvaich both closed distilleries, a dash of Glen Elgin, Inchgower and Glenlossie for the Speyside Fruits, a few barrels of Cameronbridge Grain for the Oak, and lastly Glenkinchie for the Grass.

This is one to keep hidden in a closet for fifty years or so…

Nose: Succulent fruit mostly apples, Sweet caramel and toffee
Taste: Sweet toffee-apple, and apricots, chocolate and roasted nuts
Finish: Long and soothing, impressive
