Loch Lomond Carnoustie 1999 18 years

One of only 1500 bottles, this is a very special whisky from the creative Loch Lomond Distillery, using specially selected American oak barrels and a small component of Highland Peated Malt. 8 different barrels.

This is a great collectible whisky. Loch Lomond, being a sponsor of ‘The Open’, has a number of releases to commemorate times and places that are special to Golfers the world over. The Carnoustie Golf Links date back to the mid 1600’s and the Open has been held there since the 1930’s.

After a long day at the links this is one for the adults in the room.

Nose: Dusty oak and apples, engine oil, thick roasted chestnuts, chocolate.
Palate: Red fruits, apricot, malted biscuits with nuts, and a surprising wisp of smoke.
Finish: wonderful lingering peat taste, and a satisfying sweet apricot finish.
