Springbank 23 years ( Private Barrel Company)

This 23 year expression, released by PBC in 2017 was matured in Bourbon Barrels and finished in a Sherry Butt. At an abv of 50% this is some punchy Campbletoon whisky. Seldom seen too, Springbank doesn’t sell private barrels much anymore.

Springbank Distillery is the oldest independent family owned distillery in Scotland. Founded in 1828 the business is now in the capable hands of the great great great grandson, Hedley G. Wright.

Campbletown suffered a complete collapse in the early part of the 20th century and out of 21 distilleries only Springbank, Glen Scotia and Rieclachan remained. Rieclachan was shuttered in 1934 leaving only Springbank and Glen Scotia to carry the barrel for Campbletown.
