Founded by Billy Williams in 1897, the whisky produced was light, clean and on the grassy side, and was immediately put to use as blending stock.

Billy was also very busy with Grant’s at this time, which explains why his pet project never really went anywhere was on-sold, eventually finding its was to Diageo, where it now feeds the thirsty Americans.

The Singleton is a trio of Distilleries being Dufftown, Glen Ord and Glendullan, each providing precious gold to different continents. Apparently we enjoy our Scotch Whisky differently depending on your continent, and this is one answer, at least. With a gigantic marketing budget and millions of litres of whisky, and it does seem very recognizable and familiar.
