Whyte and Mackay 21 years Blended Scotch Whisky.

This bottle of well sherried whisky was laid up in the 1950’s and is very collectible for the blended whisky collectors.

Founded by Mr Whyte and Mr Mackay in 1844 as whisky merchants and bonded warehousemen, the pair soon launched their own blended Scotch under the unsurprising name of Whyte & Mackay Special.

Unlike many other operators at the time this company was very successful and stayed independent until 1972, quite a feat considering the ongoing turmoil of the preceding 100 years.

Nowadays W and M is owned by Emprador and operates Dalmore, fettercairn, Jura, and Invergordon, where they recently developed the very popular Shackleton blend.
